DoC generator

Free EU Declaration of Conformity (DoC) generator

Pick the product category, fill in the manufacturer and product, and get a German/English EU Declaration of Conformity that German market surveillance can read, plus the GPSR product safety information for your listing. It all runs in your browser: nothing is uploaded or stored.

Read these three lines first

  1. The manufacturer signs the declaration and is responsible for it. We provide the format, we do not declare for you.
  2. A declaration without test reports behind it is worthless. Standard numbers come from your test report only: we do not write them for you.
  3. This is not legal advice. The format follows the text of the EU acts; the German headings are our translation. Have a test lab or lawyer confirm before use.

Updated

A few rules, with the source text below
  • When a product falls under several EU acts, one single declaration is drawn up and lists all of them with their publication references. (Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU Art 15(3))
  • The declaration is translated into the language the Member State of sale requires; for Germany that is German, so this tool outputs German and English. (Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU Art 15(2))
  • The manufacturer keeps the declaration and the technical documentation for 10 years, ready for market surveillance. (Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU Art 6(3))
  • For a CE product from a manufacturer outside the EU, an economic operator established in the EU must be responsible; its name and postal address go on the product, packaging or an accompanying document. (Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 Art 4)
  • An online listing shows the manufacturer's name, postal and e-mail address; for a manufacturer outside the EU also the EU responsible person's name, address and e-mail; product identification; warnings and safety information. (GPSR (EU) 2023/988 Art 19)

Common questions

What is a DoC and who writes it?

The EU Declaration of Conformity is a one-page document the manufacturer writes, stating which EU acts the product meets. Every CE-marked product needs one; the manufacturer assumes responsibility by drawing it up (Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU Art 15(4)).

Why German?

German market surveillance reads German. The acts require the declaration in the language the Member State requires (Art 15(2)), so the tool outputs German and English.

Can I sign it as it is?

Use it as the format, but the manufacturer must check the content: the acts must match the test report and the harmonised standards come from the test report. We do not fill in standard numbers.
